Driven by a passion for events and the hospitality industry, Victoria van Wyk, owner of Light Bulb Events, specialises in floral design, décor hire, event coordination, wedding planning and food styling.
It’s the art of “making things pretty”, Victoria says.
She has been mentored by some of the industry’s top leaders and gained priceless advice and experience.
“I understand the demands and the eye for detail that is required.
“I now look forward to building a company that is focused on customer service and professionalism and which offers unique concepts that will leave a lasting impression on your guests.”
QUICK FACTS ABOUT VICTORIA:
*She graduated top 3 in her class with a national diploma in Hotel Management, from Varsity College.
* In 2011 she jetted off to the prestigious Swiss Hotel Management School in Caux, Switzerland. During the first semester she completed an Advanced International Diploma as a bridging course into the Honours programme. Once she had obtained her Advanced Diploma in Hospitality and Events Management, Victoria was accepted into the BA Honours Degree programme.
* Upon her return to SA, Victoria opened a tourism business called Linked 2 South Africa Tours.
* She has worked for Vicky Crease Catering and Events, the Hilton Hotel and By Word of Mouth Catering and Events.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS …
Hosting Prince Harry at Summerplace, in Hyde Park, being involved in Nelson Mandela’s funeral, the Vodacom VIP Suite at the Durban July, the Carolina Herrera breast cancer awareness luncheon and a product launch of new fragrances of the Lux soap range.

“I look at the events industry as an artist would a canvas. Every artist starts with a concept/vision and through the process of time, thought and hard work you create a masterpiece and bring this to reality.”
